ISO/IEC 17043 and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation
Lake Balance Calibration Solutions is accredited by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA) to ISO/IEC 17043 as a proficiency testing provider, and to ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 for calibration. Both certificates cover our laboratory at 7722 Metric Drive, Mentor, OH 44060. - Electrical: DC and AC voltage and current, resistance, capacitance, inductance, frequency, oscilloscopes, thermocouple and RTD indicator simulation, phase angle, RF power and modulation

What this means for your lab
ISO/IEC 17025 clause 7.7.2 expects a laboratory to monitor its performance by comparison with other laboratories, and accreditation bodies such as A2LA, ANAB and PJLA generally prefer proficiency testing from a provider accredited to ISO/IEC 17043. Check that the scheme you need is on the scope above, and check your accreditation body's current PT policy. More in ISO/IEC 17025 PT requirements.
How we keep PT independent
- We characterize each PT artifact in our Mentor, Ohio laboratory and score every participant result against that reference value and its expanded uncertainty, using the En number.
- Once a kit has test history its reference values are fixed, and each score reflects the reference values in use at the time of that test.
- In PT reports, other participants are identified only by lab code. Their names and company details are confidential.
