15 kg Bench Scale PT

Description

Bench scale proficiency test using a set of test weights totaling 15 kg. Calibrate your scale with your own weights, then report readings and uncertainty at 5 kg, 10 kg, and 15 kg. Requires a scale with at least 15 kg capacity and 0.001 kg readability.

How this PT is scored

Each reported value is compared with the Lake Balance reference value using the En number, which accounts for both your expanded uncertainty and ours. Results are available in the customer portal. Sample instructions

To complete this PT you will need a scale set to kg that will have a capacity of 15 kg or more and has a readability of 0.001 kg or better. When you receive the test weight box marked SCALE-102 please allow 24 hours before the test to acclimate to room temperature.

  1. Calibrate the balance with your weight set and fill out a calibration report like you would for a customer. Use Lake Balance Calibration Solutions as the customer.
  2. Then open the test weight box marked SCALE-102.
  3. Apply 5 kg "A" weight and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  4. Apply 10 kg “A” and “B" and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  5. Apply 15 kg “A”, “B”, and ”C” and record reading and uncertainty on the Data Reporting Sheet.
  6. Email results and your uncertainty budget to proficiency@lakebalance.com
  7. After you've received your completed test results return to Lake Balance Calibration Solutions.
